SCOPE OF WORK:
The subterranean extension of Claridge’s Hotel, London was the formation of a new 5 storey basement under the existing building with the hotel remaining fully operational throughout the works. The project was a world first for the construction of a large-scale deep basement under an operational building. The works involved extremely complex bespoke engineering approaches and required twenty-four seven working by miners who had to hand dig a significant portion of the basement. The new basement contains plant space, back out house facilities, kitchens and a new two level luxury spa.
